[Begins transmission with a smile, him flying solo in his own journal for the day. And here, being committed to your entertainment. Or at least, it's in the works, but today he has a few things in mind he'd like to accomplish to get that started.]

Hello, Luceti, it's a chilly morning out there, so make sure you're nice and bundled up for any sort of travel you expect to be doing today.

Jack and I are still compiling some requests and compositions from you lovely lot, and if you'd like to put in some last minute offers or requests, feel free to let me or Jack know.

[Switches gears a little, looking just a little nervous]

I also come to you today for a request.

[Takes a deep breath and averts his eyes just a moment, licking his lips before glancing back to the screen]

I've heard of some doctors being located at the Battle Dome and I had questions about... things... regarding mobility, mostly. Ah, if anyone could get me in contact with a doctor there, I would really... really appreciate it. As some of you know I have some mobility issues and improving that would be...

[Smiles a little, wistful and hopeful but trying to keep it under wraps]

...It would be my top priority.

[Scratches the side of his nose with one finger and sits back]

When are you going to be doing these broadcasts, out of curiosity?

[Whatever it might be, it was ultimately harmless and shouldn't garner any concern. Scratching the back of his head, he looked upward in thought]

We're aiming hopefully for the beginning of next month if all goes well. Just in time for Valentine's Day. We're hoping to make that at least something to look forward to.

[A holiday for which he has no idea if there's anything... warped about it, here in Luceti]

Right. Valentine's Day. That is soon, isn't it?

[She laughs gently, remembering Adele's warning. Hopefully nothing bad would happen. She taps her chin, thoughtfully]

New Years and Setsubun are coming soon as well. An auspicious year indeed.

It is! And we're really hoping to do something special for all the couples out there. Without forgetting those folks who aren't in relationships. Love holidays aren't all about the romantic type, you know?

[Warning, what warning? Valentines' was harmless, and he was going to spend it happily with Jack...]

Oh! When is the new year?

Ahh, that sounds...lovely.

[For all the couples out there. It feels odd, thinking she is part of one of those.]

New Year? It's February 10th this year. Only a week after Setsubun.

We're hoping it'll be a success.

[If he knew more about Chinese New Year and this... setsooboon thing, he'd like to do something for it, too. But he doesn't know enough so he looks a little sad]

So you're the daughter of the wind and rain... is that like royalty or are you actually serious about being... the daughter of those two things?

It's a title. And yes, actually, I am.

[Nominally. For the divine life she now holds.]

All gods have titles, or other names, of course. It's how we distinguish ourselves, or based on accomplishments, parentage, or that which we have dominion over.

[So he was talking to a god-- goddess. Clint was dating a goddess, damn he didn't mess around. But he was keeping that last bit to himself, naturally. Oh, and the first bit, too]

So tell me, do rain dances actually work?

[He meant no offense, and sounded a bit amused to be honest, with intrigue, of course]

If they entertain you enough, you'll come over and cool them down?

[She laughed, amused.]

Not me personally, no. Not usually. If they're done properly, I'll send one of my servants to take care of it. If it's a particularly auspicious day, perhaps I'll show myself.

Why, do you need some rain?

No, me, I was just genuinely curious as to how all that works out. Most of the time, where I'm from-- er, well, Seattle area, too, not just England but... often very rainy. Drizzly. Though I suspect it's much nicer coming from someone the likes of you.

I just envisioned the person in charge of rain, if there were one in my world, to be more...

[Mulls over his choice of words here]

Hm. Dreary? Cloud-over-the-head? Like that. Not one to take a joke well, but instead there's you.

Oh, only in the West I should think. Rain may seem dreary to you, but in my culture it's quite the opposite. It brings life, and what can be more pleasant than a summer shower?

Though, my 'sister', Yukiko, the Blessed of Frozen Droplets? She's a bit more drab. But she's the goddess of winter storms, not summer.

I do miss home, sometimes.

[But who didn't? Really, it went without mention but it slipped out before he realized. Snickering softly to himself he lowered a brow]

We would get a lot of snow, so I think I am a bit more acquainted with her. So are there anti-blizzard dances that I should be made aware of?

Somehow, I doubt you are.

[Saori laughs cheerfully, no trace of scorn there]

Our influence is limited to Japan, unless we are directly present. I couldn't start a rainstorm in Egypt unless I was there any more than she could cause snow in Brazil unless she was there. And of the two of us, only I've ever traveled.

Is there a Canadian one? Because I'm pretty sure I'd know that one. Had no idea you all were so localized. Well, wait, if you have to keep it a secret I understand.

For what it's worth, miss Saori, you'll have to forgive my curiosity. These things just don't happen round where I'm from.

And hey, if you could discuss with the English one and tell them to lighten up? That'd be great.

[Saori catches herself, a lump forming in her throat at the question. She'd seen other continents, and it was always hard.]

No longer. I think you'll find that much of the magic that once held sway in the West has disappeared.

I don't mind questions, though. It's no trouble. Most people are like that, and not half so pleasant about it.

[On occasion, tone and insight and experience combined to help Eugene catch on that maybe this line of inquery wasn't so great. Licking his lips more out of a nervous gesture than to wet them, he glanced away, thoughtful before returning with a smile]

Well-- they're just not really being practical are they? I mean, don't offend the goddess who can literally tell you to cool your head. Violently, if necessary. I figure I should be nice-- manners are important, parents always told me that.

[She's grateful. Talking about the deaths of the Western gods bothers her more than she's willing to admit.]

Humans often have an inflated sense of self worth, Eugene. Not all of them, but plenty.

And your parents sound quite wise. Manners are important.

[Nods sagely, looking a bit tired, but not with Saori. Hardly]

I've seen some of the best and worst that humanity has to offer. Trust me, lots of people have inflated sense of self-worth. When paper money collapsed-- heh, you should have seen...

[Actually, that hadn't been a very good moment, it was like a tipping point from there when everything went to hell and he stuck his tongue in his cheek]

...I've talked myself into an odd box here. So... do you have plans for Valentine's Day-- or are you familiar with the holiday?

What happened in your world, Eugene? I get the sense that it's...troublesome at best.

[Saori feels compelled to ask, honestly. Curious about the young man]

Valentine's Day? I suppose I should think on that. It's celebrated in Japan, though opposite of what you might think of in the west. It's expected for women to give chocolate to men.

Troublesome is putting it lightly, but I'd rather not spoil a decent conversation with the kind of troublesome my world's got going on.

[Maybe it would be a story for another day, perhaps on the radio show. But he did smile sheepishly for avoiding clarification.]

That-- oh. So am I to be expecting chocolate from you or will you be offended if a bunch of guys just show up to give you chocolate?

Of course.

[Not prying...not her.]

I won't be offended, but I should think that since we're not seeing one another...chocolate would be inappropriate. Perhaps a card, though.

A card sounds lovely, then. Though I doubt a lady like you would ever be without a valentine or two. Or eight, as the case may be.

[He is very grateful that she is willing to let it go at that. Definitely a story for another time.]

But now I'm just being a flatterer, right? I'm sure that a special someone has something in store for you.

I certainly don't think I'm worth all that much fuss, but thank you. You're very sweet.
