[Begins transmission with a smile, him flying solo in his own journal for the day. And here, being committed to your entertainment. Or at least, it's in the works, but today he has a few things in mind he'd like to accomplish to get that started.]

Hello, Luceti, it's a chilly morning out there, so make sure you're nice and bundled up for any sort of travel you expect to be doing today.

Jack and I are still compiling some requests and compositions from you lovely lot, and if you'd like to put in some last minute offers or requests, feel free to let me or Jack know.

[Switches gears a little, looking just a little nervous]

I also come to you today for a request.

[Takes a deep breath and averts his eyes just a moment, licking his lips before glancing back to the screen]

I've heard of some doctors being located at the Battle Dome and I had questions about... things... regarding mobility, mostly. Ah, if anyone could get me in contact with a doctor there, I would really... really appreciate it. As some of you know I have some mobility issues and improving that would be...

[Smiles a little, wistful and hopeful but trying to keep it under wraps]

...It would be my top priority.

[Scratches the side of his nose with one finger and sits back]

Alright, thanks again, listeners-- and stay safe out there.

Alright. [It was only polite-- and he was curious about this stranger, this 'radio show', and the mobility problems mentioned...but, all in due time.]

Cliff Fittir. I'm uh...[A former space captain, member of an anti-government support organization, someone that wasn't from Earth...] Let's just say that I'm a guy who likes a good time and doesn't mind a fight or two.

[See? He can observe the UP3 too. It was just too complicated to spill everything like this.]

I also don't like all this cold, but who does?

What about you? Didn't catch a name earlier.

Isn't that the way it always goes?

[Cliff suspected that there was more, but he didn't pry. The details were always a possibility for the future...]
aerialassault: (sly -- is that so?)

Aah. So you're one of those. [He gave a short laugh.] Hard to know who's savvy or not 'round here. It's a little complicated.

Suffice to say, I'm not from Earth. Been there a few times...but the politics? Not a fan.

I wouldn't call it a 'starship', but I do have one. Or did. [A small part of him still cringed at the sight of her battered remains in the snowy, almost medieval city.] She's called the Eagle. While she ain't the toughest ship in the galaxy, she's one of the fastest.

There's another ship, called the Diplo. Ya could say that she's a 'starship', but that's too formal. We're a pretty rowdy crew, but our Captain doesn't really mind.

One of the people 'round here who's that savvy. It's hard to tell who is when there's so many kids running around with swords. [Although that was a tad hypocritical...] Any version of a barkeep is good by me, especially if there's some good tunes.

But a space shuttle...[He though about it for a sec.] Aah. I see. You're still working with fossil fuels then, amirite? People sure knew how to party then, even if they were skeptics.

And you're right. A chill crew that knows when to buckle down and man the guns really is the best.

Ya learn a few things after landing on an underdeveloped planet for the first time. But..that's complicated. You can guess why.

What kinda problems are we talking here? Sun going nova? World War III? Nuclear overload?

I meant without electricity, but I see your point. I dunno what this 'prime directive', but there is a rule that restricts contact. A friend of mine is a real square about it and he's probably trying to figure out what to do with it as we talk....but, I figure that the rules from home don't really apply here.

Aah. And you mean problems like war, pollution, overpopulation...and little things like who the next governor's gonna be, right?

[Cliff would understand entirely-- there are things that he's never going to reveal about his world as well. It was too complicated, more so than the restrictions mandated by his world's version of the Prime Directive.]

Not too bad then. You get to avoid...does 'culture shock' make sense here?

[He laughed as well.]

Ain't that always the trick? It's why you need good people around, because they might be the only ones you can trust.

[He laughed.]

Nah. We've still got the same problem. It's probably a little different, but it's the same.

[There were certain parts of his world that man wasn't supposed to know...and Cliff, unfortunately, learned that the hard way.]

Guess I got lucky then, since a couple of mine dropped in with me. Even if they didn't...the people here don't seem too bad. Maybe something could work if you give it enough time.

Hah. It's cool.

[He had a hunch that there would be plenty more stories int he future.]

Word is that we'll forget everything once we get home, so I guess we're lucky on that...

aerialassault: (thinking-- we got this right?)

Just something I caught chatter about in these books. Looks like you can check backlogs in these-- great way to learn a thing or two before something hits. Knowing your enemy and all of that.

That's right, unless it's locked. [And Cliff was a good enough sport to respect those locks. Given his line of work, he intimately understood the meaning of privacy.]

It looks like we'll be returned to the same moment we left in, so nothing changes one way or another.

...It sucks, though. Some people here prob'ly need a good vacation.]
