"Bah. I merely appreciate my achievements." He snorted. "I do not write. I do read her poetry however. That was how I kept in contact with her when she wanted little to do with me. Sharing poetry is innocent." He laughed. "Well and I truly did have no one else with whom to discuss it."

"Jack has a lovely smile as well." Particularly when naughty things were being done to him.

"He does," his own smile was softly smug, blurred with drink and mirth. Thinking of Jack did make him feel very warm, had him closing his eyes to have no visual distractions while thinking about him. "And nice freckles." he was also aware of how his smile was lovely when things indecent were afoot, "Seriously, I am so lucky to have Jack. Tripped right over him. Didn't have to chase him round, just... it was better to stick together."

"The freckles, I have not seen the full extent, but I imagine they must be nice." Well, perhaps some day. He of course keenly remembered the false lives, but refused to take that as an absolute truth to rely upon.

"I have ever been the hunter, I suppose. That is what makes it interesting."

"Like inverted stars-- wait, that's... too poetic. Or something," he made himself laugh and he tried to conceal it but it was a lost cause. Some things he was learning he couldn't stop himself doing once he'd gotten beyond a point.

"What if she'd never said yes? Would you still be hunting her? That's kinda creepy, man."

"Inverted stars are black holes, I don't think that works quite for what you wanted. Unless Jack's freckles are going to consume the galaxy."

He shrugged. "Had she not said yes, I might still be on the hunt." He held up one finger. "But you must make the distinction. Not saying yes is very different from saying no. A no is to be respected when it is this manner of thing. A not yes might be courted in the hopes it shall become a yes."
