This post is intended for anything that one could want to RP with Eugene. Nothing fancy here, just a date, type, and place where you'd like to meet up with him and we'll go from there. The only limit here is the imagination.
Stay safe out there!
Stay safe out there!
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
Heeey, glad you could make it!
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[leans on his and then offers his hand to hiccup as a gesture of hello]
Mr Hiccup, I presume? Nice to finally meet you in person, I'm Eugene. As you likely already know. So-- wow, you've got a nice little place here...
[He and Jack were thinking of moving into a larger place, with more people. A house instead of an apartment, at least]
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
Yep, thaaaat's me. It's nice to meet you, too. [He glances back at the house.] It's pretty nice, huh? It's not just mine, though. I share it with some other people.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
Not bad at all. Me and Jack-- friend from my world, we stay in a flat. Though a house... [The idea of a house wasn't bad, even if there were some roommates. Depending on who they were, it wouldn't be an issue]
So, alright, you're still using the crutch as I can see. Show me what this automail looks like?
[It wasn't that he was trying to cut to business or to be rude, it was some genuine excitement that he wanted to see just what it was that Hiccup had gotten.]
Though-- I guess we should go inside and have a seat first?
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[Winry was still the expert. But he did have the firsthand experience to go off of.]
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
I mean, sorry to be pushy. It's on my mind as a thing that could be possible.
[Firsthand experience was just what Eugene was looking for in order to determine a proper thing to do with the options at hand. But before the door was closed behind them he patted down his back pockets with his free hand and turned to Hiccup, producing a small pouch.]
Ah, for your dragon.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
But - oh? He looks at the pouch curiously.]
You brought something for him? [Grin.] Do you want to meet him now, or later?
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[Though two years... it seems like a long time, but the decision wasn't one to be taken lightly]
Not to mention I can probably only handle so much excitement in one day...
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
Gotcha. There won't be any swooping, hopefully - but he does get pretty enthusiastic about people who bring him treats.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[Takes a seat on the couch and sets his crutch to lean against it, grinning softly at Hiccup]
I should have brought a gift for you, too.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[If anything, Hiccup was Toothless' pet sometime.]
Oh - you don't have to go through any trouble like that. It'll just be nice to talk to someone about the leg who's actually interested, honestly.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[Cue him trying to pinpoint which leg it was that Hiccup had lost and was now replaced by these automail things. On account of his not really seeing what it looked like yet, he was particularly curious!]
How long did your surgery take to complete?
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
It took a couple of hours, but it felt much longer. Since you can't take anything to numb the pain, it was just...it felt like forever.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
You've got a high pain tolerance. If you had a chance to do it again, would you?
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
I think I would. The pain was excruciating, and I won't lie - I've never wanted to die before, but that got me pretty close to thinking it. But I made it through. And I made it through. If I absolutely had to do it again, I would.
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
Is it heavy? Temperature give you a problem?
[knocks on it a little, just a light wrapping with his knuckles]
Sensation?
[Hiccup, Feb 21st, late morning]
[Something to look forward to next winter.]
It's heavier, but not so much that it's caused any problems so far. And feeling...well, there isn't any. The best I got from that was a little vibration up my leg.

[Very cold temperatures being a problem... and he was already not a fan of the chill and cold that winter brought. If he went along with this, he'd have to opt for the summer.]
But overall you feel more satisfied? Is it just you and Toothless?
[Being alone wasn't a problem for Eugene on account of having Jack around, but he imagined it would be more difficult with a dragon, in Hiccup's case...]

I've had friends helping me out, as well. Believe me, it makes exercising a lot more pleasant when you have someone to talk to.

I didn't expect there to be such a support group around here, considering the loss of a limb isn't an every day thing for most people. It's nice. What exercises do you do and when? I want to give a hand. And in return you can be on our radio show and talk all you want about dragons.
[Because they were going to be doing that soon. So long as they had enough material to keep it afloat]
no subject
[He looks at Eugene curiously. ] But...what's radio?
no subject
But then the question caught him by surprise and he stopped short on his examination, both brows rising]
Well, a radio is a transmission device, picks up radio waves. They carry the sound so that you can hear me from a distance with the right receiver.
[Picks up his journal and points to it with a half-grin] Sort of like how the voice bit on your journal works, but instead of it being to one person, it's to whoever has your signal.
no subject
Oh! I see. That sounds pretty neat, actually.

[Clears his throat and has a look around, rubbing the back of his neck]
It's very useful for long-distance communications. Though with something as cool as dragons you probably don't need radios, huh? Speaking of dragons-- do they speak? How intelligent are they?
