This post is intended for anything that one could want to RP with Eugene. Nothing fancy here, just a date, type, and place where you'd like to meet up with him and we'll go from there. The only limit here is the imagination.
Stay safe out there!
Stay safe out there!

[Maybe it was a saying in Max's world, but Eugene wasn't entirely familiar with it. Though he understood the meaning behind it, at least and it made his heart warm, something unexpectedly blooming in his chest. Thankfully, not from an unexpected wound--
The warm and fuzzy feeling ended abruptly with the hair ruffle and he snorted, ducked away from the hand as best he could, smiling all the while]
It wouldn't be just Jack being pissed at you for cutting your hand open again...

[He grins, laughing softly when Eugene ducks away from him, and it's kind of nice, easy between them. He can appreciate that.]
In my defence, the first time I was drunk and the second time, on the draft... I kind of wish I'd been drunk.

[Max ought to know by now that if he was being teased, he was in their club of friends who were family. The only thing that changed really was the realization it was more real than they had anticipated before]
The first time...? I need details.
[in all he didn't know much about Max's world other than the bare minimum. Bare minimum being different from his. In terms of before the apocalypse that is, with some fragmented and off the wall politics. Drinking from his beer, he leaned back on the couch, arms spread comfortably on the back]
Make 'em good, too. Embellish, exaggerate, you know the drill.
no subject
You think you're such a comedian, don't you?
[He gave a soft laugh at that question and took a long swig of his own beer.]
Oh well, in that case it began with me returning home after a mighty battle, bruised but triumphant...
Me and Jack were getting drunk. Jack wanted to try some healing magic, contacting Nala, and it seemed like a totally reasonable idea to slice my hand open so he could practice.

[Still sitting comfortable, he appreciated the cliff-hanger. Anyone worth their storytelling had to have some of those elements interspersed for a good narrative. Both his brows rose, wordlessly compelling him to go on.]
Don't tell me, he freaked out because you cut your hand open? Seriously, you'd think you'd learn after the first four or five times we got onto you for it. You do know how hard blood is to get off of things, don't you?
no subject
[He shakes his head at that.]
Nah, this was the first time I did it. And he did freak out. And hey! Blood boosts magic. It has many applications in magical stuff.
no subject
[So maybe if he explained it to Max, he might be more understanding? Though, on that same token, Max had just tried to explain his reasoning to him and he wasn't keen on changing his mind]
So what's the part you've got to regret about, since you keep cutting yourself for your blood boosting?
no subject
[It had been a sobering realisation honestly.]
I just... I was an idiot, I know that. I don't like scaring people I care about. I was just kind of a mess. That draft really screwed me up/
no subject
And technically you are still an idiot. It's a requirement to moving in with the two of us.
no subject
[He gives a short laugh, shaking his head.]
Oh well, I think I can handle that. What about your two guys from home?
no subject
[He did turn a little wistful at that. It was strange, he was acquiring a family despite being forced to leave his behind. So in the end, maybe the world wasn't as bad off as people thought? Still bad, but not the end of...
Simon's complicated. He's the kind of guy that I'd like to like, but I just can't.
no subject
You do both seem awfully fond of him.
[Max hasn't really had much interaction with him beyond courtesies when they pass in the hallway.]
Why's that? He seems pretty friendly.
no subject
Sam's the radio operator back home, we kind of bump shoulders in the communication shack. And don't let Simon fool you, he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. That guy... he's not right. No one should train that much and be so damn chipper all the time.
no subject
It's the stuff... endorphins? Don't they make you happy? I mean, you get them from sex too and I'm always pretty buzzed after sex.
no subject
[From the start he just hadn't gotten along with Simon, though it was mainly because of his interest in Jack that made his hackles rise. No matter who or when he thought about it]
I mean, we didn't live with the luxury of medication and the guy just kept going like that. It is really enough to drive you crazy. Also, I spoke to Helios the other day, I meant to tell you. He's an alright kind of guy, despite the... misgivings I had in the shift.
no subject
[He grins though, the idea more amusing than it should be.]
Uh... you spoke to Helios? Oh I... he's a good guy. Sweet. I'm glad he meets with your approval, Gene.
no subject
[Maybe he was protesting too much. Or maybe his disdain for the guy was legitimate. Whatever it was, he gladly shifted topics from Simon to Helios]
Aren't you just? But hey, you know all about me and Jack, why keep Helios hidden away? I hardly ever hear about the two of you coming over or... or y'know doing things together. He's got an idea for an airship, which is something I've only heard of in movies and games, to be honest.
no subject
[Max can't help but grin, thoroughly amused by Eugene's grumpiness over their friend.]
I'm not... I don't keep him hidden away! We went out on his boat for my birthday. We do stuff. Just... he's kind of shy. He likes quiet stuff.
no subject
[Since he hadn't seen Max at university either and Max's world seemed to be a fair bit stranger than his own. Comparatively speaking.]
And you went out on his boat for your birthday? Heh, that's actually not bad. I had a blast at that rave, though, truth be told. Best birthday I've had for a while.
no subject
Yeah, we did that. Had a picnic. It was romantic. The rave was pretty awesome though.
no subject
[His tone, however, was not surprised, and he stretched his arms over his head, head tipped to one side. That was the sort of guy he pegged Max as being, what with his lack of personal consideration-- toward himself, not necessarily toward others. Party-goers... had a tendency to be more reckless. But speaking of reckless...]
...You all didn't happen to be... close to the coast, were you?
no subject
[He gives Eugene a curious look and shrugs.]
Yeah. We sailed along the coast for a while, then set down on some gorgeous deserted cove with a beach and everything. Why?
no subject
[surprisingly blasé, he quickly dismissed the question and gave Max a look that broached he wouldn't elaborate, but that whatever Max had missed, he was glad.]
...So, how do you feel about, ah, mom?
no subject
[He smirks over at him, accepting that evasion for now.]
Vastra? She's pretty awesome from everything I've seen.
no subject
We met her in a really wintry place, she was stuck in a tree, I think? Anyway, despite being cold-blooded, she's got a very big heart. I think we should... y'know, look after her, too...
